Security Master Planning

“Planning has always been crucial in complex activities, but perhaps never more so than today, when major changes are in progress. As we move toward new approaches to creating a responsive infrastructure, new opportunities to improve oversight, new challenges in safety and security, new missions in nonproliferation, and the continued evolution of the “NNSA of the Future”, a strategic plan can help us stay focused on a “future worth creating” and help motivate our efforts to make that future a reality. This plan reminds us why we are enduring the disruption of change.”

-    Ambassador Linton F. Brooks

Former Administrator National Nuclear Security Administration

DEFINITION:  A Security Master Plan is a document that delineates the Organizations Security Philosophy, Strategies and Processes for today and the future.  It is used to guide the organization’s development and direction in this area, in a way that is consistent with the organizations overall business plan.

Newcastle Consulting, LLC will consult and advise you in the proper process for developing and implementing a Security Master Plan and its components which will document the Security strategies of your organization both for now and more importantly for the future. The end result of this will enable you to gain the support of your Executive Management Team and when effectively presented, it will become your key prelude to obtaining the necessary budgetary funding to implement your security philosophy.  This process will vary depending on the size of the organization.  A multi-faceted business (i.e. Manufacturing, Research, Office Complexes, Distribution, Warehouses, etc.) with various sites will necessitate more work than a single site organization such as a hospital.
Some initial steps will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Evaluate the Business’s Risks
  • Conduct a Site Security Assessment (s)
  • Conduct an Assessment of the Security Organization
  • Determine what Prevention, Crisis Management & Recovery Programs exist
  • Interview Executive Management to understand their concerns/issues and what the projected growth is for the next 5 and 10 years
  • Interview Security Management to understand their concerns/issues and their plans for the future
  • Review and Evaluate all Security related contracts
